The Protect Wild Dolphins license plate is sponsored by Protect Wild Dolphins Alliance Inc. Proceeds from the plate will be used to provide research, conservation, and educational programs to protect wild dolphins. The cost for the plate is $60 every two years in addition to the regular registration fees. You must submit a completed Application for Special Plate (SCDMV Form MV-95) along with required fees. This plate is available in field offices and through the mail.

The University of South Carolina Baseball National Champions license plate is sponsored by My Carolina Alumni Association. A portion of the fees collected for this plate will be distributed to USC for scholarships. The cost for the plate is $70 every two years in addition to the regular registration fees. You must submit a completed Application for Special Plate (SCDMV Form MV-95) along with required fees.

Although Secular Humanist of the Low Country is a membership based organization, the In Reason We Trust license plate is available to all South Carolina residents. The fee for the plate is $30 every two years in additional to the regular registration fee. As a non-profit organization, the Secular Humanists of the Low Country do not receive any portion of the funds generated from the plate sales.

The Eagle Scouts of America license plate is $30 every two years in addition to the regular registration fee. The plate is available to South Carolina residents who have been awarded the Eagle Scout Award. You must provide documentation that you received the Eagle Scout Award. A portion of the fees collected will be distributed to the SC Indian Waters Council, Boy Scouts of America, and five other Boy Scout Councils.

This license plate is available to South Carolina Residents who have been awarded the Navy Cross. You must present a Department of Defense Form DD-214 or other official documentation certifying you have been awarded the Navy Cross, along with the completed Application for Military License Plate (SCDMV Form MV-37). Surviving spouse may obtain a new plate in their name if not remarried and must complete Surviving Spouse Certification listed on application. This plate allows free parking at municipal parking meters. This plate is exempt from fees. You may be issued three plates within the Navy Cross plate class to include Navy Distinguished Service Cross and Navy Distinguished Service Cross Motorcycle. This plate is available by mail only.

The Gold Star Family license plate is available to immediate family members (parent, spouse, sibling or child) of fallen service members as certified by the Affidavit of Relationship on the application form. To apply for the plate, you must present one of the following documents: DD-2064 D.O.D. Certificate of Death (Overseas) or a DD-1300 D.O.D. Report of Casualty. This plate allows free parking at municipal parking meters. There is no cost for this plate. You may be issued three plates within the plate class to include Gold Star Family, Gold Star Family Motorcycle, and Gold Star Family Personalized. This plate is available by mail only.
