The Marine Corps Distinguished Service Medal license plate is available to South Carolina residents who have been awarded the Marine Corps Distinguished Service Medal. You must present official documentation certifying that you have been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal for the Marine Corps along with a completed Application for Military Plate (SCDMV Form MV-37). Surviving spouse may obtain a new plate in their name if not remarried and complete the Surviving Spouse Certification on the application. This plate allows free parking at municipal parking meters. This plate is exempt from fees. You may be issued three plates within the plate class to include Marine Corps Distinguished Service Medal and Marine Corps Distinguished Service Medal Motorcycle. This plate is available by mail only.
